We Met a Brand New Person Today

Today, December 4, at 6:10 P.M. Cameron Dustin Ormond joined our family weighing in at 7 lbs. 7 oz. and measuring 20 in. long.  Both mommy and baby are healthy and we are having a good time getting acquainted with one another.  We will post photos of the baby after we go private with our blog.  Thanks for your love and support.

P.S. A little highlight is that Amy gave birth naturally.  More details to follow.
P.P.S. Remember to leave your email address so you are invited to read our private blog.

A Sneak Peak: What You'll Miss When Our Blog Becomes Private....

His clothes are all washed and folded and put away, his diapers and wipes are ready for use (oh boy!), and his toys and bottles are in the dishwasher. All we need to do now is wait...in the meantime, I wanted to show you a sneak peak of what you'll be seeing in the coming weeks, only in the near future there will be a baby in these pictures!

Here's his crib, with the full diaper-holder hanging:

Here's his dresser/changing table with the hamper:

And finally here is the rocking chair, whose story is recorded here:

NOW--here's the catch...If you want to see these pictures with a baby in them, you'll need to leave your email address for us, because our blog will be made private as of Wednesday December 16th. If you would like to continue reading about our lives, please leave your email address in the Comments section, or email it to us (at [dot] ormond [at] gmail [dot] com) so that we can invite you to see our private blog.

**For those of you who may remember, Yes, December 2 (TODAY) was the first Due Date I was given. The 2nd Due Date given was December 4th. The 3rd Due Date given was December 8th. The 4th Due Date given was December 5th....Because our baby will be here before our blog goes private, we will not be posting any pictures of him until our blog is private, but we will definitely post his stats when he is born, but no picture.**

***UPDATE: I forgot to mention that yesterday at my 39 week check-up I found out I am now dilated to 2 cm and am 80% effaced***

****Don't miss out on the post below, it's new too!****

Some Projects:

This rocking chair has a special story behind it.
It was my Grandma Todd's...

It used to be ugly, with an ugly worn out red cushion--to ugly to even capture on camera...

Then something marvelous happened:

Dustin sanded it down to look like this:

Then he stained and lacquered it:

And we found some cushions online, and voila...
(I'll post the picture again, so you can "ooh" and "ah")

This reminds me of another project we undertook this last summer:

Our table used to look like this (the picture doesn't do it justice--it was gross):

Here's another shot of the table when it was gross:

And another:

And one last one...you can see the edge of the gross table (Yes, this picture is a "pre-pregnancy belly shot" It's been awhile since I've seen that...look how slender I am? Well, actually I was just barely pregnant with the first baby in this picture):

We sanded it down, stained it, and lacquered it.
Now it looks like this (that's an extra leaf for the table in the corner):

Now all we need is some nice wooden chairs!

Growing Belly, Parts 37 & 38

November 23, 2009: 37 weeks and 6 days along

November 29, 2009: 38 weeks and 5 days along

I am feeling really great. Everyone keeps saying I must be so excited for the baby to come because I should be uncomfortable and not be able to sleep. I sleep just fine, and although I have some uncomfortable moments, for the most part, I feel fantastic! However, I am excited for this baby to come, so that Dustin and I can meet him and hold him--being able to roll over in bed without making a 3-point-turn will also be a plus! :)

Happy 26th Dustin!

He can be a little bit crazy!

He looks like his dad!

He's a stud!

He is kind!

He is usually really good at taking our pictures with the self-timer. Each one of these pictures he set up himself, on a rock or a stump etc, and took them with the self-timer! (the first one shows that he did it himself... :) ).

He is smart, and he has his Master's Degree!

He looks good in his Sunday clothes, and stays in them all day on Sunday!!

He doesn't mind getting a little wet!

He has a creative eye for photography!

He is a romantic!

He is incredibly short along with this entire group of people....

He is very photogenic, and is a natural leader!

He gets some pretty awesome cuts, scrapes, and bruises!

He is a hard worker!

We look good together!

He enjoys the outdoors!

He is incredibly strong!

He is fearless!

He is an avid game-player!

He is my favorite frisbee player!

He is very careful!

He makes a good "old man!"

He is probably MacGyver's Biggest Fan!

He is intense!

He LOVES banister sliding (even in his Sunday clothes...)

He can hide from me in our bed!

This is his favorite sleeping position!

He is helpful!

Happy Birthday Prince Dustonian!

Growing Belly, Part 36

November 15, 2009: 36 weeks and 5 days along

Look at that belly!

I just began my weekly doctor visits last Wednesday (at 36 weeks and 1 day). The doctor was hesitant to check me because it can be painful especially if there is not much progress, and as it is my first full-term pregnancy and I was only at 36 weeks, he suspected that there would not be any progress. I preferred he check, and we discovered I was already dialated to 1.5 cm, and 70% effaced--and it wasn't painful! I understand that I could very well stay at 1.5 cm and 70% for the next 4 or 5 weeks, but both the doctor and I were surprised at my progress considering the aforementioned circumstances.

Dustin and I are excited to be experiencing all of these new things; the progress I've made is just another step in the pregnancy that is exciting to realize that your, (well, at least my : ) ), body is doing it all on its own--it really is a miracle that our bodies know what to do!!

Growing Belly, Part 35

November 8, 2009: 35 weeks and 5 days along

Dustin caught me on camera, making sure my belly was still there...I guess??

Today in church, I was sitting in the foyer between classes, and my neighbor, who has known me since I was 4 years old, approached me and exclaimed "That is HUGE!"

Then, later between Sunday School and Relief Society, I walked passed 3 ladies (all of whom have known me for most of my life), all sitting ready for Relief Society. One of them stopped me, and the other one exclaimed "It looks like it has dropped!" They all looked a little more carefully, and remarked "You think so? Oh maybe so! Does it feel like it has dropped Amy?" I couldn't help but chuckle to myself as I walked away.

It was an eventful day at church!
